The emergence of pandemic all over the world has hit hard all aspect of life, one affected in a major way, be it international and local is the work/job of a lot of people. Sadly, a huge percentage of international and local companies closed due to no more operation brought by lock-down and quarantines, while other companies in order to survive has reduced the number of employees working fifty to forty percent out of the original total employees. In some countries, for example, the government of Saudi Arabia allowed companies to cut off the salaries of employees by forty percent while also reducing working times from nine to five hours only.

How about work from home or freelancers, were they also affected by the emergence of Covid 19 virus? Absolutely, yes of course! When the global coronavirus pandemic has caused markets into a tailspin and disrupted most aspects of daily life, freelancers were also hit hard. It has forced a lot of these freelancers to find new ways of working.

Filipino freelancers are known to be resilient that they always find ways in order to cope with the situation at the same time earn money sufficiently. Quitting their job from the company due to lockdowns means looking for a work from home job to earn their living. If the coronavirus did not happen, many of these work-from-home freelancers did not even consider in the slightest, working as freelancer, now they were laid off because their company has temporarily or permanently closed, and to find work outside is also impossible, they were left without choice but to do freelancing.

Freelancing and working-from-home has in some way provided Filipino people work in order to survive and there are perks such as working flexible hours, and the fact that they they no longer have to travel and experience bad traffic particularly in Metro Manila. Some were even able to earn more compared to their previous salaries, like six digit figures doing work at the comforts of their homes only.
